Survival ModeÀpẹrẹ

SIGNALS
Let's examine some evidence that may emerge to alert us to the fact that we are in a state of survival mode. Let's be clear: God did not create us to live in a state of panic- He paid a great price to set us free from it (1 Cor. 6:20).
These signals can vary and differ between male and female ideals.
I polled some people and investigated what they might consider examples of survival mode. This is not an exhaustive list, but some primary examples that you may be able to see yourself or someone that you love exhibiting:
- Fight or Flight Response: It is a natural physiological reaction triggered by perceived threats or dangers. It prepares the body to either confront the threat (fight) or escape it (flight). You may live on the defense quite a bit with this example.
- Not enough rest/quality sleep/inability to relax
- Feelings of being threatened by criticism
- Isolation/burying yourself in work to avoid the typical issues of life
- Memory problems/self-medicating
- Poor judgment in eating habits and not exercising self-control in other areas of life
- Extremely distracted and difficulty in focusing
- Lists that are never completed in a day...running like a hamster in a wheel spinning with no purpose or satisfaction of meeting the intended goals
- Collecting things or animals as a comforting measure
- Fixating on unnecessary things that can wait
Did you see yourself or someone you love in any (or many) of these examples? If so, I have good news for you! Jesus wants to free you from all of it!
Walking in the freedom of Christ can seem daunting because maybe you feel that you are ignoring essential things. Finding the rest you desperately need is vital so you can "Let go and let God." Jesus told us to take no thought for tomorrow, for it will take care of itself... aka: He is in control, friends! (Matthew 6:34, Prov. 16:9)
There is nothing more that we can do outside of prayer to God in trust, knowing that He keeps His promises and they are true and faithful. (Rev. 21:5)
Jesus has proved Himself time and time again.
PRAYER:
El Roi (The God Who Sees), You know what I can and can't control. Help me with all the bad habits that You see that need changed so that You can fully have Your way and I may live in contentment and peace.
In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
