DAY 1 OF 5

Mind Warfare - Devotional Day 1

Your mind is the battlefield, the place where your soul is sternly fought for in God’s Kingdom and the enemy's Kingdom. Daily decisions are made there, and every decision has a consequence, whether it’s a good or a bad choice. It’s a daily fight, one that you have to be persistent and be ready to always come out victorious of.

Winning the battle in your mind begins with knowing the truth, understanding Kingdom principles & rooting yourself in them. Your enemy will say and do anything just to get you out of the fight. Frankly speaking, your enemy doesn’t play by the rules but uses deceitful schemes to get you to forfeit your championship title, gracefully given to you by the King Himself (Jesus Christ).

Your enemy takes advantage of your ignorance, preying on you as you stay in the dark. He throws lies at you to keep you deeper in that darkness, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). If you have no knowledge of the truth, you will be defeated every time and stay in that spiritual prison because the only key to freedom is the word of God. Gear yourself up, prepare like one going for war and not like one going for a cup of tea with your rival - fake smiles and stale conversation. On this side of the fence, it’s camouflage gear and combat strategies.

Winning the battle in your mind is not a one-time thing but constantly choosing to stand on the truth and living it out, renewing your mind constantly (see Romans 12:2). For instance, if you are dealing with fear, the enemy will pick it up because he studies you, he knows your strengths and weaknesses and uses them against you for his advantage but you have power over him though, once you begin to renew your mind and realize 2 Timothy 1:7 says ”For God has not given you the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” You are now evicting that illegal tenant that occupied space in your mind, and you are establishing the truth rightfully where it belongs.

Know your enemy, notice which areas of your life he’s using against you, analyze the lies he has told you, and get in the word of God, piling up your ammunition against him. Don’t stop there, speak the word; the kingdom language that hell fears, put your mind on what God says and not what the enemy tries to tell you. Your mind is a sanctuary where God’s peace waits to invade, thus you need to guard it with your armor (see Ephesians 6:11).

Your enemy would love to distort the way you see yourself. He knows that you are a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17) he knows that you have the power & authority to trample over his wicked schemes & plans (Luke 10:19), he knows that no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), he knows that God has put a great purpose in you (Ephesians 2:10). But that’s not the issue… the real issue is: Do YOU know who you are? Matter of fact, do you know who you belong to?

Let this be a new season where you believe the best about yourself, where you see yourself from God’s perspective, where every lie of the enemy is interrupted, evacuated & replaced with the powerful word of God.

Prayer

Lord God, you created me and know me better than I know myself. You know my worries, my weaknesses, and struggles, but you are faithful and have given me the strength to overcome every battle I face. I pray, Lord, that you give me a winner's mindset, gracing me in becoming a warrior and not a worrier, and help me stand on your truth daily, thinking on things that are true, honourable, and pure. Keep my eyes fixed on you, and may your peace that surpasses all human understanding invade my heart and mind. May I start to see myself the way you see me: victorious, blessed, forgiven, and full of purpose. Teach me to trust you on this journey, and may I always follow you wherever you lead me.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
