The adoption of a person means several legal changes will happen. Changes like a new last name, inheritance rights, and the right of protection. Over time, along with the legal changes, a sense of belonging will form, time for building relationships will occur, establishing traditions will take place, and sharing new memories with a new family will help form a new and unique sense of oneself.

The same thing happens when a person becomes a Christian. There is a new relationship, as Romans 8:14 says. When people accept Christ as their Savior, they become the sons and daughters of God. They become righteous because of our righteous God. They have the inheritance of eternal life. They have a bond with God through the work of the Holy Spirit, who works in their heart. The Holy Spirit also serves as a guide to help them live a life that is pleasing and acceptable to the Lord.

Are you a child of God? Is God your eternal Father? Is the Holy Spirit living inside of you?

If so, then live a life that is pleasing and acceptable to Him!
