Back to the Basics 365

DAY 291 OF 365

Give more grace.

Everyone loves receiving grace from others. We may even come to expect it from some. But we’re often not as enthused to give grace. Relationships won’t go very far without it. We must be gracious to forgive quickly and show deference to others. Our relationship differences are easily resolved the more we are able to apply the following verses. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Romans 12:9 calls us to love “without dissimulation”, which means hypocrisy. It should be unfeigned and sincere. Our grace giving should reflect our Savior’s. Annie Johnson Flint wrote a song that sums it up well. It says:

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater;

He sendeth more strength when the labors increase.

To added affliction He addeth His mercy;

to multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.

His pow'r has no boundary known unto men.

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,

He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!
