Unity is an important part of our Christian relationships.

The Bible calls us to “be ye all of one mind” (1 Peter 3:8). If those in a relationship don’t share the same goals and direction, it’s difficult to be unified. Philippians 2 teaches us that this is achieved through conforming our minds to Christ. Too often, we succumb to the fleshly inclination to conform the minds of others to ours. We get along great with everyone as long as they agree with us. Philippians 2:1-4 says, “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” God wants us to be on the same page and the same team when it comes to love and humility. Putting others first— it is the formula for unity. Philippians 2:5 goes on to say, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”. May our thoughts not only be unified with other believers, but also with Jesus Christ Himself.
