What is the motive behind prayers?
We should pray for the right reasons. God did not design prayer for us to selfishly ask and get whatever we want. Asking for our needs is different than asking for things that are unnecessary with selfish motives. Charles Spurgeon once said, “We must remember that the purpose of prayer is not to persuade a reluctant God to do our bidding. The purpose of prayer is to align our will with His, and in partnership with Him, to ask Him to accomplish His will on this earth.”
Pray that God would accomplish His will through you today. Pray that God would help you desire the things that He desires.
