GO AND WORSHIP
Long before GPS systems or maps on our phones made their debut, people navigated the world by the stars. Ancient travelers looked to the sky for direction and signs. Not dulled by the bright streetlights or billboards, these signs were easily visible to the eye and led to journeys to discover what story they might tell. That’s exactly what happened to the wise men. When they saw a new star rise, they knew it pointed to something greater, so they followed it—not just out of curiosity, but out of a desire to worship.
The journey wasn’t easy. It was long, costly, and uncertain. But worship is worth the trip. These men weren’t content to simply admire the light from a distance; they went to meet the One it pointed to.
When was the last time you fixed your eyes on heaven? Like the Magi, when we lift our eyes from the world around us and focus on God, our perspective changes. We remember His goodness. We remember where our help comes from. We remember that He came near—heaven stepping into earth, God wrapping Himself in humanity for our salvation.
Take time today to lift your eyes above the noise and distractions and fix them on Jesus. Notice the ways He’s been faithful, the light He’s placed on your path, and the moments He’s reminded you that He’s near.
