I Work for the Lord

Whatever You do, work at it with all Your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since You know that You will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ You are serving. - Colossians 3:23-24

Elohim, You alone created the world. In Your brilliance, You determined a purpose for every creation, and You caused it to be so. Today, I recommit my work to You and pray that all of my siblings in Christ will do the same. As the author and finisher of our faith, You are also the Lord of our careers, service, hobbies, and finances.

I admit I am not always excited about the tasks before me, but I will work diligently and give of myself cheerfully knowing that You will be pleased. I want to hear You say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” If I am faithful over what I have in my hands today, You will expand my territory. So I repent of all past murmuring, complaining, and slothfulness. Thank You for forgiving me and removing these sins from me as far as the East is from the West. Holy Spirit, please remind me daily that I am working for the Lord, not for human masters. In the impeccable name of Jesus, I pray, amen.
