16 Characteristics of the God-Kind of Love - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8Намуна

Day 5 – Love is not proud
I used to get confused when the word “pride” was used years ago. One refers to a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements. Another relates to having an excessively high opinion of oneself (which can lead to arrogance).
When the Bible says “love is not proud,” it is referring to the second explanation, not the first. Anybody who is full of himself doesn’t have God’s love in expression to others. Such people are easily recognized by their high levels of selfishness in many areas of their lives. They hardly sacrifice for others (excluding a non-negotiable condition of having time with God), and that’s bad.
What drives you to do or behave the way you do? Is it your passion for your dream motivated by self, or a reverence for God? If it is the former, I really counsel you to evaluate your life. Life is not a race in which you are in competition with others. Allow God to make you so unique with your life, so you can live humbly and be a blessing to many more people.
You are a blessing!

In those five verses, Apostle Paul enumerates sixteen different characteristics of God’s love, of which we are supposed to emulate each one by grace. In this plan, you will learn about each one and how to apply them to your life for a victorious Christian living.
