16 Characteristics of the God-Kind of Love - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8Намуна

Day 7 – Love does not seek its own
Many people think the opposite of love is hatred. But truly speaking, selfishness is the opposite of love. You may ask, Why do I say that? Well, what did the Father do to demonstrate His love to the world? Gave His Son Jesus to come and die for all (see John 3:16). True love does not seek its own. It prioritises people’s interests over an individual’s own. However, this trait is one of the rarest things found in people’s character.
Philippians 2:4 (NKJV) says,
“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
If you look at your own interests, you’ll always desire to seek your wishes at the expense of people’s demands, and that can cause lots of problems in your relationships with others. Whenever you get into a dilemma of choice, always ask God what to do out of love.
You’re a blessing!
