40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

DAY 38 OF 40

You are more resilient than you think. Every time you say no to numbing and yes to clarity, you grow stronger.

Isaiah tells us that those who wait on the Lord will soar. Let’s break that down. What does it mean to wait on the Lord? In a humble stance, it means looking up in full expectancy, putting our hope in Him, knowing that His plans and timing are perfect. When we put our hope and trust in Him, we begin to change. We rise, and our vision is renewed as we mount up close to God, like the eagles, and soar above the earthly cares and concerns. We grow in resilience as we catch a thermal thrust of His power, and we are elevated to new heights.

2 Corinthians reminds us that our weakness is the very place God shows off His power. A lot of people in today’s society want to “flex” their accomplishments or take full credit for their victories. But as Christ followers, we know when we get to the end of our strength, and resources are running low, grace shows up. If we could do it all ourselves, we’d be prideful, and it would be our downfall. When pursuing presence in a world that praises productivity, it takes a different kind of resilience to keep going. The kind of resilience that can only be found through dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Resilience isn’t built in ease; it’s built in the moments you choose truth over habit and peace over impulse. And that strength is growing every day you show up for yourself and stay focused on Him.

Prayer:
God, renew my strength. Teach me to endure with grace and to trust that resilience is rising in me. I trust You and I know Your ways are higher than my own.

Journal Prompt:
When have you surprised yourself with your own strength? When have you experienced supernatural strength? What did those experiences teach you?

About this Plan

40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

Have you found yourself at the end of a long day, wondering, “Is this glass of wine really helping? You’re not alone. Let's awaken your sober mind through presence, grace, and truth. We’ll explore what it means to pause, connect, and live in alignment. We’re going to look at what God’s Word says about freedom, peace, and wholeness. Each day, I encourage you to slow down and really reflect. Let this be more than just a reading. Let it be a rewiring. You are not broken. You’re being rebuilt. One day at a time, one choice at a time.
