Shining God's Light to OthersНамуна

Dressed with Kindness
Noah zipped up his jacket as he walked to the bus stop. It was cold outside, and he felt grumpy. Just then, he stepped in a puddle of water, getting his shoes wet. Now he was really cold and grumpy!
A neighbor boy stood at the bus stop, watching Noah shiver. That’s when he opened his backpack and pulled out a hoodie.
“Here you go,” the boy said, handing the hoodie to Noah.
At first, Noah felt too grumpy to take it and shook his head no. Then he realized how kind the boy was and put the hoodie on. It felt warm and dry.
“Thanks,” Noah said. “I’ll give this back after school.”
“No problem!” the boy exclaimed. “Keep it as long as you need it.”
On the way to school, Noah looked out the bus window. He thought about the boy’s kindness, and all his grumpiness melted away.
The Bible says in Colossians 3:12 to “clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (niv). These are things that make you feel warm and cozy inside and help others feel loved.
Here is a prayer to take with you: “Lord, please remind me to put on kindness like I put on a warm hoodie. I want to be kind to others as You are kind to me. Amen.”
