Uncharted: Ruach, Spirit of God

DAY 15 OF 70

“But the Lord came down…” Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭5‬ (‭NIV)‬‬

Do you ever think about legacy?

About the project you’re working on, the family you’re raising, the artwork you’re creating? There are so many ways we imagine the impact we’ll leave behind. But if we do it without the Lord, it’s striving in vain.

The story of Babel is simple, and that’s intentional. It’s meant to be easy to recall. A quick reminder of our pride, our faults, the times we try to make a name for ourselves. They built a tower meant to reach the heavens… and yet God had to come down to see it.

Are there things you’ve been doing outside of God’s strength?

God isn’t opposed to big dreams or hard work. He’s opposed to the part of our hearts that craves worship, that wants the glory for ourselves.

So whatever you’re building, bring it before God. Ask Him to search your heart and align your intentions with His. With the Lord, your work will not be in vain. It will be good. And it will glorify Him.

Prayer:

Lord, we are sorry when we seek all the glory for ourselves. Please help us work for Your glory and praise. Amen.
