God Is With Us

DAY 10 OF 10

God will be with us on the new earth

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.’” (Revelation 21:3 ESV)

The wonderful truth that God is with us will unfold even further on the new earth. There will come a day when the Lord God will replace our present earth, which has been corrupted by evil, with a new, perfect earth filled with goodness and righteousness. In that world, there will be no place for evil, impurity, or sin. There, all believers will find an eternal home that Jesus has prepared for them. And God Himself will dwell with them. What an incredible prospect that is!

A well-known song expresses the longing for that future:

There is a day
That all creation's waiting for
A day of freedom and liberation for the earth
And on that day
The Lord will come to meet His bride
And when we see Him
In an instant we'll be changed

We will meet Him in the air
And then we will be like Him
For we will see Him, as He is
Oh yeah!
Then all hurt and pain will cease
And we'lll be with Him forever
And in His glory we will live
Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

Believers throughout the ages have looked forward to that day. The Bible even concludes with the exclamation: “Come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20)

Do you echo that sigh of longing?

About this Plan

God Is With Us

“God is with us.” That’s the good news the Bible tells us. Right from creation, God wanted to be with us humans. And despite all that has gone wrong since, He still wants to be with us! He even wants to dwell in our hearts. Find out more in this reading plan.
