He Already Knows

God sees our needs before we even know to ask. He sees every moment of our lives, and he knows what we lack and how we struggle. He is not surprised by our trials or taken aback by our weaknesses. He is acutely aware of every moment of our lives. He sees our joys, burdens, hopes, and fears. He knows what we need in every circumstance. Not only is he aware of us, but he cares deeply for us. His love for us isn’t passive. He isn’t a God who sees and walks away. He is ready to provide for us when we call upon him. Where we are lacking, he is eager to step in.

As a good Father, God takes care of his children. Just as an earthly Father loves to take care of his children, so God delights in caring for us. We can trust him to provide for us. He is faithful in times of uncertainty, and he is reliable in the fiercest storms. He doesn’t care for us out of obligation but out of deep love. He is a good Father who wants to be with his children. He longs to spend time with us, and he loves to give us good gifts.

As God cares for us, we can selflessly take care of others. We can treat the people around us with generosity because God has been so generous with us. We can share our time, energy, and resources because God has not withheld provision from us. He pours unlimited grace and mercy on us, and we can bless others with the same generosity. If God readily and joyfully meets our needs, we should do the same for others when possible.

Today, seek to live with open hands. Remain open to both receiving God’s blessings and sharing them with others. Look to the Lord with the expectation that he will provide for you and look for opportunities to give to those around you. Remember that God faithfully supplies your needs whenever you ask.
