Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

Though you ascend as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down (Obadiah 4).
What is the outcome for those who don't honor the children of God?
Isaac and Rebekah longed to have children. The child of promise, Isaac, pleads with the Lord for children, and God honors his request. Moses writes, "But the children struggled together within her" (Genesis 25:22). Thus would be the theme of Jacob and Esau, who represent two nations: Israel and Edom. Unwisely, the Edomites refuse to aid the Israelites during their wilderness wandering (Numbers 20:14-21). Faithful to His Word, God judges the Edomites. Earlier the Lord promised to Abraham, "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you" (Genesis 12:3). Although the Edomites thought they were secure because of their rugged and lofty landscape, God brought them down.
Employment Point: Honor God's chosen people and receive His blessing rather than His wrath.
