Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneНамуна

For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness (Psalm 107:9).
Has God satisfied your soul?
The psalmist understands that only God brings contentment to the soul, which is the entire person. Yet He desires us to seek Him so that He alone can fulfill our deepest needs. “Satisfies” means to be satisfied, have enough, or too much. Jesus addresses this topic in the Beatitudes. Our Lord preaches, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). Only the Lord can satiate the hunger and quench the thirst of our inner being. James gives the following command: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). The half-brother of the Lord grasps the truth that God rewards those who approach Him. After all, “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Employment Point: Draw near to the Lord to have His goodness satisfy your soul.
