Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances. Sure, it sounds nice, but how do we do that? We can’t have our heads bowed and eyes closed all day, right? We can’t find joy and gratitude when things aren’t great, can we? Well, this isn’t exactly what the writer of this verse is asking. The author is encouraging us to keep things like prayer, joy, and gratitude on our minds all the time. To make them parts of our everyday faith! We can pray when we’re out for a run, working on our homework, or hanging out with friends. We can find joy in the little things and be grateful to God when good things happen. It will not only help us shift our focus toward something better, it will give us opportunities to connect with God and see our faith grow every day.
