DAY 18: GENEROSITY

Prayer Topic: Ask for a generous spirit in giving to others.

Devotional: Generosity is a reflection of God's character. God freely gives to us and as we are made in the image of God, then generosity is an appropriate heart we must all have. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV), it says, "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." God invites us to be generous with our resources, time, and love.

There are many ways you can be generous; you can be generous through your time, talents, or treasure. So whether you serve or help someone in need, give of your money or give your talent as a gift to someone else, you can exhibit the life of a generous believer. During this fast, pray for a generous spirit in giving to others. Embrace the joy of cheerful giving, knowing that God blesses a heart that freely shares.
