21 Day Favor FastНамуна

DAY 17: JOY
Prayer Topic: Pray for a joyful heart in all circumstances.
Devotional: Joy is a deep, abiding sense of contentment and gladness, rooted in our relationship with God. Happiness is an emotion that is like a light switch. It can be turned on and off in a matter of moments just by the changing circumstances. In Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV), it says, "The joy of the Lord is your strength." Our joy is not dependent on circumstances but on the presence of God in our lives.
As we fast, pray for a joyful heart in all circumstances. Let your joy be a source of strength and a testimony to God's goodness. Joy is not an emotion, it's a deep sense of trust and understanding that all things work together for those that love the Lord.
Quote: "Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation." – Kay Warren
Reflection 1: Reflect on the difference between happiness and joy. How can you nurture a sense of joy that is not dependent on external factors during this fast?
Reflection 2: Consider moments when your joy in the Lord was a source of encouragement to others. How can you share that joy with those around you?
