The Shepherd (S1-E9)Намуна

Everyone needs to know!
How extraordinary that God chose shepherds, the most ordinary and overlooked of people, to have an encounter with angels who tell them that the Saviour has been born. “Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”
In The Chosen, we see something remarkable: the crippled shepherd who had been scolded and excluded is the first to run toward the manger. The expectation of meeting the long-awaited Savior gives him strength beyond himself. Before he even reaches Jesus, he is healed.
It’s a beautiful picture of grace. The broken and unwanted are the ones Jesus welcomes first. The least become the first to worship.
After meeting Jesus, the shepherds can’t contain their joy. They hurry back, praising God and telling everyone what they have seen. The news is too good to keep quiet.
Isaiah’s prophecy had come true: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Reflection Questions
- Do you want to meet Jesus?
- Which names from Isaiah 9:6—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace—mean the most to you right now?
- How can you share the good news of Jesus in your own way today?
Prayer
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men. Lord Jesus, thank You for coming near to the humble, the broken, the overlooked. Help me to see You as the shepherds did, to rejoice in Your salvation, and to share Your good news with joy. Amen.
