In these two parables Jesus challenges us to remember just how valuable the Kingdom of God is to us.
We read how two men gave up incredibly valuable possessions to gain something they considered to be of even greater value. When we think about what we've given up to be in the Kingdom of God, we must also remember and rejoice in how much more we've gained in return!
We must also constantly evaluate our hearts to see if there are any possessions, dreams, relationships, etc., which we're holding on to because we believe they're more valuable than what God has for us in His Kingdom.
