COST OF BEING A DISCIPLE
Too many times we are enticed to follow Jesus with an offer of "all benefits and no cost." Instead, this is a free gift that costs us everything, but what we receive in return is far greater than anything we give up!

If you came to Christ thinking you wouldn't have to give up anything and only get things from Jesus, be sure to examine your heart to see if there's anything you wouldn't give up to follow Him if He asked you.

When sharing your faith with your friends, you shouldn't be afraid to help them count the cost as well. This is not to scare them off but to help create a realistic picture of following Jesus. If we try to win people to a costless Gospel, they may end up farther from Christ then when they started if they fall away after being confronted with the true cost of following Christ.
