Dear Lord, You are a good Father and are in control of all that is done on earth and in heaven. That does not mean that You cause the life of a Christian to be easy or that You do not allow mourning. Please hold me during times of deep sorrow: I trust in Your plan and realize I need Your love and peace to sustain me when I am grieving. Thank You, Father, for Your deep and perfect love. I ask that You continue to guide my thoughts and actions while I grieve losses here on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This Lent season, we invite you to slow down and realign your focus on the sacrificial love of Christ. Over the next forty-six days, you will embark on a journey through seven ancient spiritual disciplines. Each week, you will be introduced to a new discipline that you can add to the previous weeks. Every longer devotional will be followed by daily Scripture readings and prayers to help you go deeper.
