Dear Lord, I am amazed by how You care for my needs, whether large or small. In the feeding of the four thousand, You showed compassion for those gathered to hear Your Word and gave them food to eat—both physically and spiritually. Your love and grace in this passage show how much You care about everything that goes on in my life. Teach me to notice the ways You demonstrate compassion toward me—and toward each of Your children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Over the next forty-six days, you will embark on a journey through seven ancient spiritual disciplines. Each week, you will be introduced to a new discipline that you can add to the previous weeks. Every longer devotional will be followed by daily Scripture readings and prayers to help you go deeper.
