Men nu är det faktiskt så att Kristus har uppstått från de döda, och att han är den första av alla döda som en dag ska uppstå. Döden kom in i människosläktet genom en människa, och därför kom också uppståndelsen från de döda genom en människa. Alla dör på grund av sitt släktskap med Adam, och på samma sätt uppstår de människor till nytt liv som lever i gemenskap med Kristus. Men de döda uppstår i en viss ordning. Kristus uppstod först, och när han kommer tillbaka ska alla de som tillhör honom uppstå. Sedan kommer domens dag, då Kristus ska överlämna all makt till Gud, Fadern, sedan han har utplånat alla härskare och makter och krafter.
