Wait, Watch, Worship: A Lent DevotionalVzorec

Worth (from lost to loved)
Sunday – 28 days before Easter
John 4:4-26
This story has deep roots in the history of God’s chosen people. After generations of intrigue and infighting, God’s kingdom divided. The northern kingdom, Israel, chose Samaria as its capital. The smaller southern kingdom, Judah (often called Judea in the New Testament), chose Jerusalem as its capital. There was no love lost between Jews and Samaritans. In some cases, there was deep distrust, suspicion, and even hatred. Add to that the ancient world’s views about men and women, and this story has all the makings of a dramatic encounter. It was that, and more. As you read the story today, take note of the setting, the people, the conversation, the questions, and the dialogue. Imagine what it would have been like to be there, seeing all that happened and hearing all that was said.

O tem bralnem načrtu

From Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday, this devotional plan reflects on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, tracing the themes such as wait, wonder, watch, and worship. Each week focuses on a specific Biblical story (Sunday-Friday) and ends with a Psalm (Saturday). Holy Week traces the final scenes and events of Jesus' life, crucifixion, and resurrection.
