"Prayers and Whispers"
Life carries the all-defining questions of, “Who am I? Why am I here? Why is the world like this?” Do you realise that a divine plan and dream concerning you and your future does exist?
Hadassah, an unknown orphaned Jewish girl living in Babylon, did not realise that a divine plan was waiting for her. She went on to become Queen Esther, risking her life to save her people as she suddenly understood her identity, her purpose, and her responsibility. She recognised that she was born for “such a time as this.”
As a 15-year-old girl praying on my knees, I had a strong sense of destiny - that I was divinely ‘marked.’ Some years later, I heard God whisper that destiny into my spirit... I never knew His whisper could carry such depth, magnitude, wonder, and beauty, nor did I know it would carry such challenge and stretch, embrace and healing, or that there would be times it demanded incredible courage, strength, and stamina and yet be the source of incredible joy, reward, and rest.
The days and world in which we live demand a response. It’s not okay to simply sit by and watch as our planet groans under the weight of gross darkness and unrestrained fear, hoping that someone will do something. We have no right to complain unless we are willing to take personal responsibility. The moment you take responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you can change anything in your life. Over these seven days, I challenge you to take a deep breath, and dive in to discover your ever-increasing, ever-perfecting, and ever-defining sense of worth and value. You have a God-given uniqueness and purpose for this profoundly significant hour.
My prayer is that you will still your heart to listen to the God-whisper in your spirit. I pray that you will lean into and trust in an eternal, just, and loving God who longs to lead you into a world beyond your wildest imaginings. Let today be your rise-up, grow-up moment and decide to embrace your dreams with an unreserved heart to serve your world in Jesus' name.
