That They May Know You - “Now this is eternal life: that they know you”

It is interesting how we think of our salvation. Sometimes we focus so much on the life-after-death part that we forget what the scripture is reminding us here. Eternal life is not only about life after death but about knowing God; having a deep understanding of who He is, in the here and now. It has a lot to do with the day-to-day and the way we live now.

In fact, once we know God, we can also understand how our specific giftings, interests, and passions can bring him glory today. Just as Jesus had a specific calling seen in verse 4, each of us have a plan God wants to roll out in our lifetime. It is not only something that we will enjoy doing but something that will bring Him glory and help people know Him!

• God, help us know you more
• Help us live out what you’ve called us to do so that we may bring you glory

Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, Jesus, for giving each of your children a specific call
• Thank you for granting us eternal life, a life that knows you intimately
