Insecure

DAY 3 OF 28

Doubt and Insecurity In this chapter, we observe how the serpent deceived both Adam and Eve. Both Adam and Eve understood God's command to abstain from eating from this tree. When questioned by the serpent, Eve responded, clearly repeating the instructions God had given them. However, the interaction that followed led both Adam and Eve to doubt God and disobey. The serpent deceived Adam and Eve by questioning God's intentions. He accused God of lying and withholding from them something good. Those seeds of doubt gave birth to feelings of insecurity and distrust in their creator. In the same way, Satan loves to sow discord in relationships today. He divides sisters and brothers, parents and children, classmates, work colleagues, church members, leaders, and friends by wrongly questioning the intention of others. The seeds of doubt sown by the serpent caused Adam and Eve to ultimately feel insecure in their relationship with God, when all along, God was for them, not against them. Daily Challenge: Think about the relationships around you. Do you have any relationships where insecurity may be the root of a strained relationship? Have you allowed doubt to grow in your heart about other people's intentions for you? Release your feelings of insecurity to the Lord, asking him to remove any seeds of doubt that have grown in your relationships.
