## “Bold Faith Moves Beyond Belief.” Going from merely having faith to living with bold faith requires movement. True and real faith cannot be stagnant or stuck. For example, it is one thing to say that you believe a bridge could support your car as you drive across it, but to really prove your faith is real you have to drive your car across the bridge. Faith requires movement and action. We often get stuck in our journey with Jesus and treat life like a treadmill—just walking and running in place but never really going anywhere, doing anything, or changing anything about our lives. If God really is who He says and can really do what He has promised and we believe Him, then it should change the way we live our lives. Yesterday, we talked about the importance of the object of our faith—what we place our faith in. Joshua was able to be strong and courageous because he knew the living God. God had promised to be with Joshua wherever he went and that promise gave Joshua the courage to move. In today’s reading, you’ll see that Joshua’s Bold Faith moved not just him, but gave courage to those around him as they all began to prepare to cross the Jordan River. This river was no small obstacle; on any other day, an attempt to cross the 100-foot wide and 10-foot deep river would easily have caused you to be swept away, but Joshua and the Israelites believed that God would make a way for them to cross. So they prepared to move toward the Jordan River.
