Journey to a Manger: Trusting God's Plan From Nazareth to the Nativity

DAY 6 OF 6

Forever Christmas

Celebrating the everlasting impact of Christmas

The Christmas season provides wonderful opportunities to be drawn into the story of the "Journey to the Manger." Over 2000 years ago, a Savior was born that forever changed history. He still reigns today! Making Your Life Count radio host Steve Douglass offers a suggestion for making it "Forever Christmas."

The light the shepherds saw that Christmas night was just a little taste of living eternally in the light of God's presence. But on this side of eternity, we all have opportunities to let our light shine for Jesus - especially at Christmas. May we respond to help others experience "Forever Christmas" in the days ahead.

Application Questions:

  • Who is someone that you would like to see discover Jesus, the light of the world?
  • What steps can you take to pray and care for them?

Conclusion

In the middle of Proverbs 22, there is a powerful verse. It is almost as if Solomon called a time out to remind the reader why he gives these life lessons. It says, “I am teaching you today — yes, you — so you will trust in the Lord” (NLT). That is it. God uses life lessons to build our trust. Our prayer is that these six days spent learning about Journey to a Manger are a reminder to do that — to increase your trust in Him.

About this Plan

Journey to a Manger: Trusting God's Plan From Nazareth to the Nativity

Journey to a Manger is a six-day plan that helps you discover the deeper story of Christmas. Each day contains a short (1–2 minute) audio message that ties into the journey theme. It was not an easy path. You will see how God used surprise encounters and even quiet shepherds to bring His Son into the world. These lessons connect to real-life stories to show how we can follow God today. No matter what you’re facing, Christmas reminds us that God is near, working in big and small ways. Let this journey draw you closer to Jesus.
