Sometimes we can think so much about our family and our world that we forget we are first part of God’s family in His created world. The Bible opens with God creating. Light. Water. Animals. Then he creates man and woman. Our first picture of God with humanity is as a Father with His children. They are living freely and unashamed. A lot has happened since then. Sin has entered the world, we’ve disobeyed and Jesus died to be a sacrifice for our sins. But that doesn’t change the fact that God is our Father and we are part of His family with Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Maybe your family’s fractures make it hard to even imagine the perfect family that is found with God in eternity. Maybe your experience has made it hard to picture God as a parent. If that’s your story, then maybe spend the next couple of days thinking about what is means to you that God created you and calls you His child. This might be your invitation to finally embrace the fact you are His and He loves you.
