Na úsvite sa všetci veľkňazi a starší ľudu uzniesli proti Ježišovi, že ho treba usmrtiť. A tak ho spútali, odviedli a vydali vladárovi Pilátovi. Keď zradca Judáš videl, že Ježiša odsúdili, rozľútostený vrátil tridsať strieborných veľkňazom a starším so slovami: „Zhrešil som, lebo som zradil nevinnú krv.“ Ale oni mu povedali: „Čo nás do toho? To je tvoja vec!“
