Keď Alžbeta počula Máriin pozdrav, pohlo sa dieťa v jej lone a Alžbetu naplnil Duch Svätý. Zvolala mocným hlasom: „Požehnaná si medzi ženami a požehnaný je plod tvojho lona! Ako to, že matka môjho Pána prichádza ku mne? Hľa, len čo mi v ušiach zaznel tvoj pozdrav, od radosti sa pohlo dieťa v mojom lone. Blahoslavená, ktorá uverila, lebo sa splní, čo jej oznámil Pán.“
