Faith at Home

Focus

Gratitude: Thank God for a moment of grace or spiritual connection you’ve experienced with a loved one.

Listen

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NRSV)

"Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise."

Reflection:

Faith was never meant to live only in church buildings—it was always meant for kitchen tables, late-night conversations, and passing down stories. In the ordinary flow of life, God invites us to speak of Divine love, not as a lesson plan, but as a natural rhythm of being with young people we love. Parents and caregivers don’t have to be experts. Instead, they are called to share how they see God in joys and struggles, how grace shows up in daily life. Faith grows strong when young people see that God is not distant, but part of every ordinary moment.

Apply

What is one simple way you can weave a conversation about faith into your family’s daily routine this week?

Respond

God of every moment, help me to see your presence in my home. Teach me to speak your love gently and often, so that faith may take root in everyday life.

Faith Formation Framework Series 4: Faith Catalyzed by Family Intimacy and Intentionality

The idea of “family” is different in many cultures. It was even different in the many cultures that made up the Biblical world! It can be broken, whole, or something in between, even in the Bible. However, one thing has remained constant: family is formative for every human being. Through Jesus, we are adopted into the family of faith that God creates. Whatever our families look like, Christians are trying to live as a part of God’s Divine family in many different ways. That’s what we will discuss this week.
