“Become a Child of God”
In this verse John, the author of this book, is speaking about who Jesus is and what Jesus does for those who receive and do not receive him. Jesus came into the world after making the world, but the people of this world did not recognize him. Still, to this day, we forget to recognize Him.
The world aims to draw us away from Jesus and fill us with false gods and distortions of God’s plan for us. Jesus offers to make us His own. There is something that we must do in order to become a child of God. We have the RIGHT to become children of God when we recognize Jesus as Lord and believe in who He is!
