When you play a team sport you get a uniform. When you wear the uniform everyone can see you’re part of the team. God chose you to be on His team, there’s no uniform but the Bible does tell how as God’s chosen people we should clothe ourselves. With compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Knowing we’re chosen changes how we live, how we treat others and how we respond to challenges. When we’re on God’s team we live like we’re on God’s team! Sometimes compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience are not easy. We’ll still get it wrong and mess up from time to time. We might be clothed in the wrong things - when we lose our patience and say unkind words. That’s the best thing about clothing, if you’re wearing the wrong thing, you can change it. If you get dressed in shorts and a T-shirt only to go outside and find it’s a cold rainy day, you can change! You can clothe yourself in a warm coat, pants and gumboots. 

Knowing you’re chosen means that with God's help, you can change. You can choose to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
