NEW YEAR NEW WINE John 15:5 NIV “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. Living in a wine-growing region means that I have friends who are vignerons and at this time of year (January - February) it is the vintage season for our vineyards. One thing that my vigneron friends have taught me is that they love and look forward to the new season’s wine! It is interesting that even though the same vines are in the same location they can produce vastly different variations in their new season’s wine. With wine and so it is with us, it is the condition of the previous year that will set us up for the year to come. I sincerely believe that there will be people reading this today who are discouraged, worn out, living depressed or feeling trapped by life’s circumstances. Maybe it is a family crisis, leadership challenges, business difficulties, financial hardship, spiritual dryness or a relationship breakdown. However, the struggles of your past are the tools God will use to set you up for your strongest year ever. In the next devotion, I want to start showing you 10 areas of your life that I sincerely believe God wants to create NEW in you this year. Prayer: Thank you God for the year that was. Despite the difficulties and challenges, I am choosing to believe that they were setting me up for my best year yet. I am believing for a new year, full of new beginnings in many areas of my life.
