HELPING KIDS KNOW GOD
"We will not hide them from their descendants;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord,
his power, and the wonders he has done." - Psalm 78:4
As we sit down to Sunday lunch, my eldest daughter beams with delight as she recites to us the memory verse that she learned at Kids’ Church that morning. Yes, it’s awfully cute, but it’s also challenging. She adores soaking up Bible stories and verses to the point that she can’t wait to spill them out to us later that day, and as it happens, throughout the week.
While I love my church and its amazing kids’ program, I need to make sure I’m helping my kids understand, and love, the Bible too. I love the Psalmist’s words above; that we are to tell the next generation about their God, and the wonderful works He has performed. Parents are called to have conversations with their kids about God.
Together with our kids, we can find in the Bible His actions throughout history as well as His character. And of course, we must also live out our faith so our kids can see us trying to follow the God we share about. This is not easy, but I’m hoping that by investing time in the Bible with my girls, that their passion on Sundays would continue throughout the week. If you also have kids, I hope that might be the same for you.

O tym planie
We are all created for relationship. For fellowship and connection. Community and family are two areas of life where we find this. But what does good community look like? How does God use community and family to strengthen His kingdom? In this plan, these are the topics that we delve into. How can we be a loving community that reflects Christ to the world?
