This “large crowd” is like a hometown crowd cheering us on as we run the race of faith. The reading concludes by affirming God’s treatment of us as his children. Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 12:2a Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. Today’s Reading Hebrews 12:1-11 Reflect In verses 7-11, the relationship between God and people is described as that of a father and child. What are your thoughts regarding the Lord correcting everyone he loves (verse 6)? What is the purpose of correction or punishment? Pray Lord Jesus, keep my eyes fixed on you. My faith is dependent on you. You died on a cross and are now seated at the right side of God’s throne. I thank and praise you for your sacrificial love. Amen.
