W czasie jednego z tych dni Jezus wsiadł wraz z uczniami do łodzi i powiedział: Przeprawmy się na drugą stronę jeziora. Odbili zatem od brzegu. Gdy płynęli, zasnął. Nagle na jeziorze zerwała się burza. Łódź napełniała się wodą. Zrobiło się niebezpiecznie. Przysunęli się zatem do Niego i obudzili Go. Mistrzu! Mistrzu! — wołali. — Giniemy! A On, wyrwany ze snu, skarcił wiatr i wzburzone fale. Wtedy burza ustała i zapanowała cisza. Następnie zwrócił się do nich: Gdzie wasza wiara? Oni zaś zdjęci strachem i podziwem pytali jeden drugiego: Kim On właściwie jest, że rozkazuje nawet wiatrom i wodzie, a one są Mu posłuszne?
