Ten Commandments of Marriage: A 10-Day Devotionalਨਮੂਨਾ

Thou Shalt Serve One Another
Service is love translated into a habit.
Jesus modeled servant leadership; putting others’ needs above His own - and marriage is the primary arena for that humility.
Serving your spouse means taking notice and taking action: making coffee during a busy morning, taking over a chore without being asked, or offering space when their energy is low. These acts communicate worth and create a rhythm of mutual care.
Service includes emotional labor: initiating difficult conversations, remembering anniversaries, and offering an apology when wrong. It resists role rigidity; both partners seek to fulfil needs and joy in meeting them. A posture of service dismantles entitlement and builds reciprocal trust.
Intentional service compounds.
Small, unnoticed acts over days and weeks build safety and gratitude. If resentment surfaces, try a week of unannounced service: do something each day to ease your spouse’s load without keeping track of it. Watch how the atmosphere shifts.
Service is also sacrificial; it sometimes requires you to put aside preferences for the benefit others. When both partners serve, the marriage becomes a secure place to grow, fail, and be restored.
Application
Are you paying attention to your partner's needs?
For seven days, perform one small service for your spouse without announcing it. Notice the effect and share it.
Prayer
Lord, give us servant hearts. Teach us to seek each other’s good and to rejoice in humble acts of love.
