Making the Most of Your Marriage; a 7-Day Healing Journeyਨਮੂਨਾ

Topic: Don’t do marriage in isolation
Jeremiah 3:15: “And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine.”
Marriage mentorship is such an unpopular practice today, largely because of a misinterpreted cultural belief: “Keep your marriage between you two alone.” While this may sound noble, it can lead you and your spouse to isolate yourselves from the very wisdom that could save your union.
Let’s be clear—keeping your marriage private is wisdom. This is simply protecting your intimacy, honoring your spouse, and refusing to expose your relationship to unnecessary scrutiny. But keeping your marriage secret—especially when there’s pain, dysfunction, or confusion is folly. It’s a breeding ground for unresolved wounds, silent suffering, and spiritual stagnation.
God never intended for marriage to be done in isolation, so he has equipped many of His children with the capacity to support marriages, in the form of mentors, counselors, and spiritual guides.
Seeking help does not mean your marriage is failing; it’s wisdom, meanwhile, refusing to submit your marriage to the support it needs is not strength—it’s pride, and pride certainly begets a fall - the fall of your marriage.
Marriage mentorship means allowing a successful, spiritually grounded couple to guide you along the paths they have already walked or witnessed others walk. It’s not about copying their story; it’s about learning from their wisdom, their scars, and their victories.
Submitting yourselves to marriage mentorship is simply the humility to say, “We don’t know it all, but we’re willing to learn,” and the courage to invite accountability, receive counsel, and pursue growth with intentionality.
Your marriage won't survive and thrive by prayer and passion alone; you need perspective provided with love, truth, and spiritual maturity by mentors chosen by God to support you.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of godly mentors. Help us to walk in humility, to seek wise counsel, and to grow through the guidance of those who have gone before us. Let our marriage be strengthened by wisdom and shaped by Your truth. Amen.
