DAY 3 OF 5

God Is the Way Out – Day 3

When Jesus asked the paralyzed man if he wanted to get well, he replied with excuses: “I have no one to help me into the pool…” (John 5:7). He was more focused on what he lacked than on the solution standing right in front of him.

We often do the same—saying, “I don’t have strength,” “I don’t have resources,” or “I don’t have opportunities.” But Jesus doesn’t need our abilities. He said:

I am the way and the truth and the life.
(John 14:6, NIV)

He doesn’t offer formulas—He offers His transforming presence.

Paul also declares:

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
(Romans 8:31, NIV)

The limitations you see in your life are not obstacles for God; they are opportunities for Him to show His glory.

In practical terms, it’s like having a GPS on your phone but refusing to use it—just driving around aimlessly. Excuses keep us lost, but when we stop insisting on our own way and look to Jesus, we find the clear and safe path.

Today, it’s time to stop saying, “I don’t have” and start declaring, “With Christ, I have everything I need.”

Talk with God and open your heart:

Jesus, forgive me for focusing more on my excuses than on Your power. Today I declare that You are my way out, my hope, and my strength. Amen.

Think about this:
What excuses have you been using to avoid moving forward in what God is calling you to do?
What does it mean to you that Jesus Himself is your way out?

Coming up on Day 4: Religion vs. Expectation
Tomorrow, we’ll see how religion can dull our faith—but Jesus invites us to live expecting His power.

About this Plan

Get Out of Sleep Mode

Many times, we live on autopilot, as if we were in “sleep mode”: without active faith, trapped in routine, waiting for wrong solutions, or doubting God’s power. The story of the paralyzed man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5) shows us that Jesus comes into our lives to awaken us from spiritual lethargy and give us new strength. This 5-day plan invites you to awaken your faith, trust that God is your way out, and rise up to walk in His purpose.
