Breaking the Chains You Built

This past year, I felt myself losing my edge as a leader and as a visionary. I couldn’t run at the speed and agility I wanted to. I was playing small, holding back.

What I realized was this: I was playing small because I had designed a business around people who weren’t willing or able to keep up. They could thrive in seasons of expansion but not endure in seasons of contraction.

The truth? Sometimes the biggest chains holding us back are the ones we’ve built ourselves.

Breaking free required many hard decisions…difficult conversations, pruning relationships, and releasing what was no longer aligned. But those decisions changed everything. My creativity returned. My freedom came back. The business began accelerating again.

Maybe you’ve been feeling stuck, too. Maybe it’s not the market, your offer, or your calling. Maybe it’s who you’re carrying into your next season. Not everyone can run with you at the pace God has set. Sometimes God calls us to let go in order to grow.

Leadership isn’t just about vision…it’s about making the hard, obedient choices that free us to fully step into the future God has for us.

Father, thank You for showing me that I am a new creation in You. Help me to see the chains I’ve built for myself and give me the courage to break them. Give me wisdom to know who to carry into the next season and the strength to release what holds me back. Restore my edge, my creativity, and my freedom as I step forward in obedience.
