Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him (Isaiah 64:4 NKJV).
Are you waiting upon God to act?
Patience can be challenging, but today’s reading from 1 Thessalonians teaches us to wait on the Lord with rejoicing, prayer, and thanksgiving (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18). Isaiah 64:4 also speaks of God’s faithfulness, declaring that those who wait on Him will never be disappointed.
Are you struggling with impatience in a specific area of your life? Trust that God is working behind the scenes. While you wait, stay committed to rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks. I encourage you to practice patience in those moments by celebrating what God is doing—even when you can’t see it yet. After all, “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24 NKJV).
Employment Point: Continually rejoice, pray, give thanks, and know that God is on the move.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
