Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage (Exodus 20:2 NKJV).
Are you honoring the person and work of God?
Both the person and work of God are mentioned in Exodus 20:2. “I am” speaks about who God is, the Eternal God, and what he does - he displays His vast power by rescuing Israel out of Egypt. His works are perfect; they are in complete harmony with His character and testify to His eternality. We can fully trust our God because He is the great “I AM.”
The Lord Jesus Christ makes the connection with the Father using these same words. In John 8:58 (NKJV), he says, “before Abraham was, I AM”. The connection is that Jesus, being eternally God, is equal to the Father. We should daily reflect upon the person and work of the Lord!
Employment Point: Revere the person and work of God.
