Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Twoਨਮੂਨਾ

Return, O LORD, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake! (Psalm 6:4 NKJV).
When you are suffering, do you turn to anger or to the Lord?
Paul and Silas endured severe beatings and imprisonment, yet “at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them” (Acts 16:25 NKJV). Notice that Paul and Silas sang "hymns to God," focusing on Him despite their trials. They demonstrated their faith, aligning with Paul’s teaching: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NKJV).
When you encounter hardships, follow their example. Turn to God in prayer and praise, showing Him the strength of your faith even in adversity. Trust in our heavenly Father, just as Paul did during turbulent times.
Employment Point: Display your faith in God despite your circumstances.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
