Jesus, be the center of our relationship.

I constantly feel the tension and the pull of the world and culture on my marriage. Sometimes it’s subtle and other times its slapping us in the face, but the devil is always lurking, looking for a way in or a means to divide. That’s why I pray for the Lord’s intervention in my marriage daily: that he would be the center, the foundation, the standard, the “everything” that holds my husband and I tightly together. Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NIV) says “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Let me just tell you right now, that third strand is not your mama or your brother or your children. There is no one that can hold your marriage relationship together and prevent the breaking and fraying the way the Lord can.

Invite him in. Better yet, build upon him! Let his Word and his wisdom and his power be intertwined in your marriage. If you do this, it won’t be broken.

God, we trust you to hold this marriage together. Help us to center on you! We pray that our marriage would be wrapped tightly in your care and that we would not be easily broken.
